For Music Tutors

Are you a music tutor looking for new students in your local area?

MusicTutor.net is an independent directory connecting parents and learners with local music teachers across the UK. We send enquiries from prospective students directly to tutors in our network — and we don’t take any commission on the lessons you teach.

What We Do

When a student or parent submits an enquiry through our website looking for guitar, piano, drum, or singing lessons in their area, we forward their details to a local tutor. The tutor contacts them directly to discuss schedule, location, and pricing.

There’s no platform fee on lessons. No commission on what your students pay you. You teach as you would normally — we just connect you with new local students.

How We're Different

Most music tutor directories — Bark, SuperProf, and similar — list multiple tutors for the same town and instrument. Students see five or six profiles side by side, tutors compete on price and reviews, and the platforms charge extra for “premium” placement or take commission on every lesson you teach.

We work differently.

When a student submits an enquiry for guitar lessons in Southampton, for example, that lead goes to one tutor only — the first tutor in our network to claim it.

There are no competing profiles on the same page.

No premium placement fees.

No commission on lessons.

You pay once for the introduction; everything after that is between you and the student.

For tutors who want guaranteed territory — meaning all enquiries for your instrument in a specific town come to you, with no other tutors in that area — we offer exclusive territory arrangements. If that’s of interest, mention it when you get in touch and we can discuss whether it’s available in your area.

Who We Work With

We work with independent local music teachers who have:

  • Their own professional teaching practice
  • Appropriate enhanced DBS clearance for teaching children
  • Public liability insurance covering music teaching activities
  • Capacity to take on new students in their area

We’re not a vetting service or a quality assurance platform. Tutors on our network are independent professionals responsible for their own credentials, pricing, and teaching standards.

How to Get Involved

If you’d like to find out more — including how lead distribution works, what we charge, and what to expect in terms of activity in your area — get in touch using the form below. We’ll send you a short introduction by email with everything you need to evaluate whether we’re a good fit.

There’s no commitment to anything by getting in touch. We’ll simply share the details and let you decide.

We don’t charge subscription fees or take commission on lessons. There’s no commitment beyond the leads you choose to take.

About MusicTutor.net

MusicTutor.net is an independent UK directory connecting students with local music teachers. We launched in 2024 and currently work with tutors across the South of England, with new counties added as we grow.

When a student submits an enquiry through the site, we forward their details to a tutor in our network covering that instrument and area. You contact the student directly to discuss schedule, location, and pricing — there’s no platform involvement beyond the introduction, and no commission on the lessons you teach.
